During the reconstruction of the abbey of Boulbonne in Cintegabelle, the architecture of the abbey was influenced by different styles. Gothic style with its ribbed vaults. The classic style, appreciated by the Cistercians who sought simplicity, order and clarity; which one notices in particular by the modillions. And the Louis style.XIII, particularly visible on the east facade of the abbey, identifiable by its aspiration to unity and grandeur. The abbey was completed in 1738 by the front door which stands out with a tympanum arranged without a lintel (giving the appearance of sunbeams). The volume of the abbey increased by nearly two and a half times that of Mazères. Boulbonne Abbey was built for a hundred clergymen.
Only from 1790, the abbey counted only 9 monks and 4 lay brothers. A year later, Boulbonne Abbey found itself auctioned off as a quarry with several families. Only a third of the abbey remained. But in 1842, Norbert Moulas and his wife Angélique Serres de Colombars bought all parts of the abbey and stopped its destruction. Since then, the Moulas family has strived from generation to generation to maintain the abbey, with the advice of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Occitanie.
